CLEVELAND MUSEUM of NATURAL HISTORY  Cleveland, Ohio

The goal of this project was to define a new vision for the Cleveland Museum of Natural History and to transform its relationship with visitors to the museum. The exhibit master plan, completed in 2009, expresses the ideas generated through a fruitful and intensively collaborative process that engaged the museum’s Board of Trustees, the exhibits and education staff, subject matter experts and scientists, Fentress Architects, and Christopher Chadbourne & Associates, Inc (exhibition designers).

Each specialty and area of focus informed the others, and the master plan reflects a balance between the building opportunities and restraints, the needs of the education staff, the institutional goals and exhibit themes, practical considerations for visitor comfort, ease of navigation, and the strength of museum collections.
